Laurel Gallery Christmas show 29th November

 Two little dark beauties for The Christmas show at Laurel Gallery, St Stephens Street, Stockbridge, Edinburgh. Both are 5x7 inche oil sketches which hopefully spawn larger versions in the new year. Due to the size both will be fairly cheap and would make excellent Christmas gifts..... On that note its not too late to commission a small piece for christmas or put in an offer on any of my available works..

The Meffan Winter Exhibition 23rd November 2012

This weekend sees the opening of The annual Winter Exhibition at the Meffan gallery in Forfar. This is probably the most prestigious open exhibition in my home county. This year I have entered "White Rabbit" (above) and "Watchtower."  If you are in the area the exhibition runs til 29th of December, its free entry and most of the art work is available to purchase.

Leith Gallery Festival Exhibition 3rd of August

I will be exhibiting at Leith Gallery's Festival show that runs between 3rd and 25th of August where the above 2 paintings will be available for sale.
If you are visiting Edinburgh for the festival take a jaunt down to Leith.
 Leith Gallery ( http://www.the-leith-gallery.co.uk/) can be found on The Shore and is surrounded by excellent restaurants including the Michelin starred Martin Wishart's and The Kitchin (Tom Kitchin). Theres also an excellent Chop Chop for those on a budget.

May Update

New work and AAS Annual Show

Finished painting. Still untitled.
Entry forms for the 2012 Aberdeen Artists Society Annual Show was released today so I will enter that, although not with this painting as it will be still wet and needs a coat of varnish in a couple of months time. Any suggestions to what I should submit?

I've felt like this for sometime.

Just, Not quite sure yet...

New work "completed" tonight. Not quite sure of it yet. Its lacking in detail, somewhat intentionally as well as I try and loosen up my style. I think some of the contrast maybe too high too given it more of an "illustration" feel to it.

Anyway, very please with composition. Also, its been photographed under artificial light, so not at its best.
